Ruth Appfelbaum, a personable elderly woman on a pension who has survived three loveless marriages, goes to Central Park every day. One day, Max Horowitz, a retired intellectual, who used to devise crossword puzzles for a living, sits down on a bench with Ruth and their unlikely friendship begins. This heart warming comedy explores the possibilities and challenges of senior romance between two opposites who share a common need for warmth and companionship.
