Center Players, Freehold’s resident theater company, is delighted to offer the 1988 Pulitzer Prize winning play, Driving Miss Daisy written by Alfred Uhry and directed by Bernice Garfield-Szita as its summer Signature Series production.  It will open July 25th and run five consecutive weekends through August 24th.  Set in mid century Atlanta, Driving Miss Daisy tells the story of an elderly matron, Daisy Wertham, played by Susan Schwirck and her chauffer Hoke Coleburn, played by Raymond Dothard.  At first Daisy is quite unhappy when her son Boolie, played by Raymond Sammak and Richard Flanagan hires a black man, but over the 25 year span of the play, Hoke gradually wins her over and the two develop a deep rooted respect and affection.
